A chance to make Lichfield District Fairer and Greener

A Fairer District

For a long time Lichfield, Burntwood and the Villages have had Tory control at the Constituency, County, District and City/Town Council level. The Tories have ignored the sense of Labour’s ideas and have implemented privatisation and cut backs to the detriment of us all – think of the privatised potholes!

In 2023 voters gave us a chance to improve the District – we won enough seats for there to be no overall control. But do not have the power to bring in our proposals. However gaining control of Burntwood Town Council and Lichfield City Council means we are making changes at the grass roots level.

In 2024 after a tremendous effort from many local volunteers and an excellent campaign from our candidate Dave Robertson, we finally have a Labour MP representing us in Parliament

However we cannot rest there – our focus is now on the County Council elections in May where we need to ensure that Labour’s voices are clearly

A Greener District

The whole of the district should benefit from council investment and their share of its services.

Labour proposed a Climate Emergency for Lichfield District in December 2019, and the Conservatives supported it – but they have missed targets and delayed involving our residents – nationally and locally it became very difficult to believe they really think that there is an emergency…but we know there is.

We will engage with our residents to help us get to Carbon Net Zero before 2050.

Whilst we work to win seats at the County Council elections we will continue to work with partners to improve the lives of all our residents and make Lichfield District “a great place to live”.
